Merry Christmas - Already?

I can't believe it's December!  Seems like the year has flown by.  We will be having some big changes in January - my new Tumbleweed house should arrive then!  Yes, I am having a new home built.  It will be an Elm Overlook 20 - which will give me 2 more linear feet and allow me to have a  Murphy bed downstairs.  WHOOHOO!  I have been "redesigning" my tiny house in my head since I first moved in - what works and what doesn't; what I need and what I don't need; etc.  I think I finally came up with a pretty good design.  The folks at Tumbleweed Tiny House Company worked with me to make adjustments to one of their standard designs (a descendant of my Lusby) and they are building my new home in Colorado right now!  I've also been working with Organized Spaces, a Seattle Murphy Bed company, to design a horizontal twin bed with a fold down desk.

Once I get the new house and get moved in, I will get THIS one all spiffed up and ready to sell.  It will be tough to let her go - I think you get more attached to these small homes because they are such intimate spaces; tweaked and inhabited on a very individual scale.  One great thing about having a tiny house on a big mobile home lot, is that there is plenty of room for BOTH houses, so I can have my "For Sale" house right nextdoor!  I will be posting pics of the new place once it arrives - both before and after I move in!

Happy Holidays to all!

  1. Happy holidays to you, too! Will be interested to see the new place. Could you leave the present one on the lot too, and use it as a guest house/rental?

    1. I don't think the mobile home park would allow me to do that and I could use the money from the sale.
